What Does Success Look Like to Me?

The word success can mean many different things. It can also look very different from one person to another.

There is both external and internal success. External success is visible—it shows up as achievements, such as career advancement or financial prosperity. It’s what others can see. Internal success, on the other hand, is about how life feels on the inside. It involves contentment, a sense of meaning, well-being, and balance. It can mean self-expression, following one’s own path, and achieving inner peace—a feeling of living a life that truly feels yours, regardless of external measures. These two types of success don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Internal success can lead to external success when a person follows what truly resonates with their heart. However, I believe that external success alone does not bring true fulfillment.

So, what does success look like to me?

Right now, my biggest measure of success is my level of inner calmness and balance in my life. I know that I am in the right place, with the right people, when I feel a deep sense of peace in my body. My nervous system serves as a guide—it tells me when it’s time to slow down and rest, and when I have the energy to move forward. I feel successful when I can listen to this wisdom and act accordingly.

A key pillar of my internal success is that I no longer measure my worth by my actions or achievements. I don’t need to constantly do in order to feel content and fulfilled. External markers do not define my self-worth. I know that I am valuable and important, just as I am, without needing to prove anything.

I feel successful because I have found my own path and can walk it in my own way. I get to live a peaceful life on my own terms. I experience success in the little moments of everyday life—like quiet mornings on my yoga mat. I feel successful because I do this work out of passion, not obligation. My internal success also brings external success because I act from a place of authenticity and genuine intentions.

To me, success means being able to create more positive energy in this world. It means fulfilling my soul’s purpose and, through that, bringing even a little more light into someone’s life. That, to me, is true success.

I hope that everyone gets to live their own version of a successful life. <3
