Intuition — The Gentle Voice Within

Intuition has been defined as the ability to gain knowledge or understanding without conscious reasoning. Some describe it as the sixth sense. It is our inner knowing — something we want to trust, even if we don’t necessarily know why. It cannot be understood by the mind. Intuition speaks when something feels right, when we can sense it in our body.

Intuition belongs to everyone. I believe we are all born with our own innate intuition. However, people hear or choose to listen to their intuition at a different level. Being present helps us hear that gentle voice from within more clearly. Perhaps that’s why people say that a balanced person’s intuition is rarely wrong.

The voice of our intuition can be strengthened. Slowing down the pace of my life, grounding myself back into my body, and practicing meditation have been powerful ways for me to strengthen my intuition. A calmer lifestyle creates space for listening. Strengthening the connection to our body helps us sense more clearly when intuition is communicating with us. Meditation helps in many things — including enhancing intuition, as it allows us to calm the mind by letting go of the clutter in the mind. You can think of this as a volume knob, you can turn up or down the sound of your intuition with it. When you have a strong connection to your intuition, the voice grows powerful and it becomes easier to follow the guidance.

Intuition and ego speak different languages. Intuition comes from the soul and has nothing to do with the mind. However, for most people, the voice of the ego is so loud that the gentle whisper of intuition often goes unheard. But by listening to our intuition, we can be led to places in life that our mind could never have dreamed of.

Trusting intuition brings a unique sense of peace, even in the midst of big or difficult decisions — an inner knowing that this is the way things are meant to be. Intuition always comes with peace. It guides us toward a life that truly feels like our own — if we dare to listen.

I feel lucky because I have had a strong sense of intuition since childhood. However, this doesn’t mean I have always listened to it — unfortunately. There were times when something felt wrong in my body, yet I ignored that inner wisdom for one reason or another. Through these experiences, I have learned to listen and act according to my intuition.

Nowadays, my intuition speaks so loudly that it’s nearly impossible for me to ignore it. I hear it and feel it strongly in my body, and I trust its guidance. Intuition has led me to live in the other side of the world — led me to the core of my purpose. That’s how important it is to me. <3
